Meet Linda
A Life Devoted to Cavaliers
Linda has been breeding Cavalier King Charles Spaniels since 2001 — over 20 years of learning, loving, and perfecting her program. What started as a passion for one of the most gentle, affectionate breeds in the world has grown into a calling.
Based in West Michigan, Linda raises every litter in her home, surrounded by family life. Puppies hear children playing, experience everyday household sounds, and are handled from their first day of life. The result is a confident, trusting companion who transitions seamlessly into family life.
"I don't breed for quantity. I breed carefully — only a few litters per year — because every puppy deserves my full attention and love before they go to their forever home." — Linda Ellerbroek

Our Philosophy
Breed for Health, Temperament & Type
At West Michigan Cavaliers, every breeding decision begins and ends with the health and temperament of the dog. We breed for conformation to the Cavalier breed standard — but never at the expense of what matters most: a puppy who is healthy, happy, and ready to be a beloved companion for life.
That means small litter numbers, careful pairings, and careful health monitoring and pedigree evaluation before any litter is planned. Every puppy Linda places carries that foundation with them into their forever home.
Health First
Our Health Commitment
Cavaliers are a beautiful breed, but like all breeds they have known health considerations. We take these seriously. Linda's 20+ years of careful pedigree tracking means she knows her lines — and she breeds with confidence backed by generations of health history.
Breed Health Awareness
Cavaliers are prone to certain hereditary conditions, and Linda knows them well. Every breeding decision accounts for what she has learned across decades in this breed.
DNA Health Screening
DNA health panels screen our dogs for hereditary conditions that can affect Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, giving us a clear genetic picture before any breeding.
Regular Veterinary Care
All breeding dogs receive regular veterinary check-ups and health monitoring. We don't breed dogs that show any signs of health concerns.
Generational Pedigree Records
After carefully tracking multiple generations of our pedigree, Linda knows these lines are structurally sound. That generational knowledge is as valuable as any single test.
Our Home
The Dog Palace
Every puppy at West Michigan Cavaliers is born and raised here — in our home, underfoot, surrounded by family. Take a look at where your puppy spent their first weeks of life.
The Breed
Why Cavalier King Charles Spaniels?
Cavaliers are often called the "love sponges" of the dog world — and for good reason. They live to be close to their people. They are equally happy curled up on the couch or going for a walk in the park. They do well with children, other dogs, and even cats.
Their adaptable, gentle temperament makes them ideal for families, seniors, apartment dwellers, and first-time dog owners alike. They don't need hours of exercise, but they do need lots of love — which they return tenfold.
